REC Smart Meter Installation Code of Practice

We are committed to providing our customers with a smart meter, free of charge.  To ensure you get the best possible experience from your smart meter visit, we’ve signed up to the ‘REC Code Manager. 

In 2019, we went one step further and launched our own specialist metering company, BES Metering Services Ltd.  Engineers are trained at a state of the art Metering Academy to go over and above industry regulations, in order to provide customers with a first-class installation experience.

We want to ensure you have a good experience when receiving your smart meter. To help us achieve this, we have partnered with DJS Research, to carry out a brief survey with customers following their smart meter installation. We chose DJS Research because they abide by the Market Research Society Code of Conduct and act ethically and professionally. The survey can be completed either online or by phone, so please be aware you may be contacted by DJS after your appointment.

Where possible, we urge you to take part and provide your honest feedback, to ensure we continue to improve our service at every opportunity (we also love to hear about positive experiences, so we can pass feedback to our staff).
