Operations Director, Ben Rouncefield-Swales, has worked in energy and sustainability for almost 20 years and oversees all operational activities for BES Utilities and BES Metering Services, including the management of customer services, complaints, compliance, credit control and back office/supply administration functions.
Ben has had a varied career, previously working in consultancy, brokerage, compliance, software and technology all within the energy and sustainability sphere. This experience has given him a unique insight into the industry which he applies within his role at BES. His career has taken him all over the world, where he’s helped businesses large and small problem solve and save money by creating operational efficiencies and through the deployment of new technology.
When he’s not at work, you can find Ben trail running or mountain biking in the Ribble Valley, and spending time with his wife, three children and their dog.
Tania is a highly skilled HR professional with an MA in Human Resource Management and substantial experience in senior HR positions internationally and in the UK.
Throughout her career, Tania has worked in various sectors including hospitality, housing and energy, and has over 20 years’ experience in all areas of Human Resources with a strong focus on HR strategy delivery, employee relations and performance management.
In her role as Group HR Director, she is responsible for managing the HR and Learning and Development functions across the group of companies, as well as developing and implementing HR initiatives in line with organisational objectives.
In her spare time, Tania enjoys a range of activities including spending time with her family.
An expert in financial strategy and business growth, and member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Finance Director, John McLaughlin, oversees the whole of the finance department at BES, as well as the commercial finance function and commercial trading area.
John previously worked in the leadership team for one of the UK’s largest B2B telecommunication solution providers before working as CFO for a travel and technology company. He enjoys having a full view of the business which enables him to effectively inform strategy, and with over 20 years’ experience in the finance sector, he has a proven track record of monitoring and driving company performance.
When he’s not in the office, John enjoys cycling and spending time with his wife and three children.
With over 25 years in the technology industry, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Dave Clarke, is well equipped to manage the IT service assurance function and ensure all IT systems align to BES’ business strategy, as well as overseeing security and business integration.
Dave has worked all over the world, across a number of sectors, delivering technology transformation and leading world-class service management teams. He cites mentoring people with different IT aspirations and helping them achieve their goals as one of his career highlights.
In his spare time, Dave can be found in the hills hiking and his most challenging experience has been trekking in the Canadian Rockies during bitterly cold winter temperatures.
Adept in building business strategy and managing change, Business Development Director, Steve Kemp, has spent the last 20 years working in the energy sector. He has worked in a number of areas including finance, and energy consultancy, and of those 20 years he spent 12 years working in the renewable energy sector, helping a UK energy company grow and expand across the globe.
Steve’s role at BES involves identifying new products and channels, and he is embracing the entrepreneurial spirit of the business and relishing the chance to promote change in order for BES to grow significantly over the forthcoming years.
Steve is a keen golfer, and spends most of his spare time on his local golf course in Cheshire.
Mike has over 13 years’ experience within the utilities industry and has a wide knowledge base thanks to working in a variety of positions at BES from field-based work and back office operations management, to contact centre management.
As Deputy Operations Director, Mike oversees the Collections, Billing, Registration and Loss, Customer Excellence, Vendor and Resourcing, Settlements, and Quality teams. His role involves managing all operational functions to ensure a customer focus is maintained, as well as improving employee engagement and streamlining processes to make sure the business is running as efficiently as possible.
In his spare time, Mike plays in goal for North West Counties League Premier Division club Northwich Victoria.
