With almost 20 years’ experience working in financial services and utilities for the likes of Bank of America, British Gas, and Barclays, Steve is well equipped to manage the leadership, strategy, and performance of BES Utilities.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Steve joined BES in February 2018 as Finance Director and then became Chief Executive in July 2019. He takes a lead role in managing the day to day running of the business and liaises with BES’ many stakeholders, partners, and suppliers. He also monitors performance and focus in relation to opportunities within the company and projects that are underway.
Steve holds a degree in Law, an MBA from Manchester Business School, and a green belt in Six Sigma. His early career was spent in traditional roles across the finance function, later branching out into strategy and transformation. This experience has created a broad commercial, operational, and financial skill set.
Beyond family, friends, and walking the dog, any spare time Steve has is spent indulging his passion for sports cars.
With over 10 years’ experience in the energy sector, Adrian brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge, and is continually working towards the improvement and expansion of BES Utilities.
Before working for one of the ‘big 6’ UK energy suppliers for a decade developing their strategic partnerships, Adrian spent 10 years working for Leeds City Council in business process change, where he was tasked with making departments work more efficiently.
Adrian joined BES Utilities at the beginning of 2019, and in his role as Commercial Director, he is responsible for increasing revenue for the business by sourcing new routes to market, and he also manages the BES Metering Services division.
In his spare time, Adrian enjoys cooking as well as relaxing and spending time with his wife, his three children and his two dogs.
Tania is a highly skilled HR professional with an MA in Human Resource Management and substantial experience in Senior HR positions internationally and in the UK.
Throughout her career, Tania has worked in various sectors including Hospitality, Housing and Energy and has over 20 years’ experience in all areas of Human Resources with a strong focus on HR Strategy delivery, Employee Relations and Performance Management.
In her current role, she is responsible for managing the HR and Learning and Development functions across the Group of companies.
Tania will complement the existing Senior Management Team to strengthen and improve overall business performance.
Stephen is a talented IT professional with a degree in Software Engineering. The diversity in the roles he has held throughout his career, in the UK and internationally, provides him with a wealth of IT knowledge and experience.
After joining BES at the end of 2018, Stephen is responsible for programme management activity and maintaining and updating all systems to ensure efficient and continuous operation, as well as managing the day to day performance of the IT Team across the UK and South Africa.
With an IT career spanning 20 years, Stephen has worked all over the world, from Switzerland to Malaysia. Skilled in simplifying complex areas and making IT and technology more accessible to users, he enjoys making a difference and is dedicated to helping BES grow and become more successful.
An avid Blackburn Rovers fan, Stephen often goes to matches, and enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and his dog. He’s a regular runner, and after completing the Edinburgh marathon last year, he’s building himself up for his next challenge.
Having been a Chartered Accountant for over 30 years and holding senior positions across a variety of industries including retail, medical waste, and energy, David brings a wealth of expertise to his role of Financial Director.
His previous roles have focussed on supporting the growth of businesses. He particularly enjoys being involved in developing companies and helping management improve their financial understanding.
David joined BES in July 2019 and is responsible for managing financial operations and improving financial performance. He’s joined the company at an exciting time as BES looks to further growth through public sector contracts.
In his spare time, he enjoys motorsports, in particular, speed hill climbing, as well as spending time with his family and their dog.
Michael has over 9 years’ experience within the utilities industry. He has experience of field based work, back office operations management and contact centre management. Michael oversees the whole collections process at BES.
His role involves leading, developing and delivering effective collection strategies whilst maintaining customer focus, ensuring those in financial difficulty receive the support required.
